Halo: Reach Beta

So I've tried out some matches of the Halo: Reach Beta and I find that it takes awhile to kill people. Though I may be using weak guns. Speaking of the guns, the new weapons they have are pretty interesting. So far I've seen about 3 new weapons and new versions of past weapons. Also, they added new equipment to the game, such as Controllable Camo, Sprint, Jet pack, Guard, and Dodge Rolls. Which adds new game dynamics to game-play. I believe you'll actually have to think up tactics using each equipment. The stealth kill system is another new addition to the game, but i find it unnecessary since it leaves you open. Another new addition to the game is the lobbies, you actively swap between voting between 3 choices or passing on what game-mode/map you want to play. It gives you a chance to have variety in your gaming instead of playing the same game over and over. Lastly they added customization of your spartan. You get to choose your helmet, left shoulder, right shoulder and chest armor. As well as customizing each piece further. You purchase new armor pieces and customizations with Credits gained from playing. Overall I find the game to be interesting, but not enough that I'll be pre-ordering it. Though I will most likely buy/rent it at some point for the campaign. Just thought I'd write a short review for those who don't have the chance to play the beta.

According to sources that leaked info about the Super Street Fighter IV roster updates and got everything right, news has hit Kotaku.com about a possible new sequel to the famous fighting series from Marvel and Capcom.

I myself would LOVE a new Marvel vs. Capcom. It's a game thats not really hard to get right when it come to gameplay, only a graphics updates is really needed.

WTF 2.5 Million people download Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack

According to Kotaku.com, 2.5 million Xbox 360 users have downloaded the new Modern Warfare 2 "Stimulus Package" Map Pack, 1 million of those purchases were made in the first 24 hours.

How the hell that happened I'm not sure as, just about everyone I know has boycotted the map pack because of it's price, saying that for 5 maps, the cost is just too much.

Are Modern Warfare 2 fanboys that big on buying something no matter what the price?

This was posted on Kotaku about possibly being the new Nintendo 3DS, now it's pretty much confirmed fake, but man I wish it was real.

If you check out more of the pictures from here, you can see that the screen swivels to reveal the controls for the system.

If Nintendo is smart, they better look into using this as a design for a possible sucessor to the NDS line of portable gaming.

Justin.tv is expirencing an error that we cannot explain on my Channel. It is not fixed, however I have found a workaround for that issue.

So, starting Tuesday we will be taping the newest episode of Rebel Rouser Podcast. We will be doing this Month's Top 5 as voted by you the fans, so stay tuned to that.

As for personal stuff, I've gotten back into playing MapleStory at the moment, which apparently my computer doesn't like to broadcast while playing it, so I've been offline alot recently on my Justin.tv channel. I will however find some time to broadcast once Grand Theft Auto IV: Liberty City Stories comes to my house from GameFly.

I sucessfully uploaded EP 27 of Rebel Rouser Podcast to our podcast site, so lets hope that when I'm done encoding EP 28 that there will be no issues.

Looks like our Podcast host is having some major issues.

Like we said before, every podcast trying to upload to their services is expirencing a "Save Audio" error, which usually means their servers have become full and they need to empty out all the junk files.

Emails have been sent to the hosts and hopefully they are working on fixing it now, but the comapny is under new control recently so theres not alot of news at the moment.

For the time being though, we uploaded the newest episode of the podcast to Megaupload for the time being:

Thats right, from now on, Frustrated Gamer is now Rebel Rouser Gaming.

I figured, that since we usually are now all on Skype while I cast, it's just best to change the channel name from my own personal channel to one that fits with the entire group.

The same great entertainment, gaming, and such will still happen, but with more and more ideas being added to our network, I felt it would be best to have an entire channel dedicated to the Rebel Rouser Network, hence, Rebel Rouser Gaming.

You will notice changes to the old Frustrated Gamer channel and much more soon to be added.

Why, Hollywood? ...Why?

I was browsing Kotaku when I noticed this:

Darkest of Days to Become Darkest of Movies

"Proving once again that game review scores don't matter to movie producers, a movie version of 8monkey Labs' time travel shooter Darkest of Days is being shopped around, with the writers of The Rock attached to craft the screenplay."

Why does Hollywood feel that its within their right to destroy games with HORRIBLE movies? Don't get me wrong, I know there's always exceptions to the rule... But this shouldn't be one of them. IMO, Hollywood needs to keep their greedy little fingers away from video games. Keep it separate. Create original movies. Don't try to "adapt" games in order to score a few bucks from gamers. You guys already destroyed Street Fighter as a movie, Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros., Bloodrayne, House of the Dead, Dead or Alive, and Resident Evil (THE WHOLE DAMN SERIES).

Game Crazy Woes Again

Game Crazy can't catch a break as parent-company Movie Gallery has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. When the dust settles, only 250 Game Crazy locations will remain. The company already closed over 200 locations late last year. In total, Movie Gallery plans to immediately liquidate and close 760 stores in its financially fallible trinity of brands: Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video and Game Crazy.

The company hopes to emerge from the "restructuring" with a "new and sustainable business model centered on a smaller base of profitable stores." The only division of the business unaffected by the bankruptcy is the company's Canadian operations. At least that's one good thing, eh?

Man...Game Crazy just needs to be laid to rest. First just about every location near me here in MN closes down, along with TONs of Hollywood videos and now this? Looks like GameStop and companies like Blockbuster and Netflix are just ruining those small time movie and video game places. It's a wonder places like GamesNGo here in Brooklyn Park are still able to keep afloat, even with a GameStop less than a quatar mile away.

UFC 2009: Undisputed - I've beaten all the other weight classes and I'm working on the Light Heavyweight Class

Castle Crashers - I've beaten it, but using someone else's data. I haven't truly beaten the game.

All other Super Marios - I get frustrated with the games and yell, "Screw it! I'm done!"

Final Fantasy VII and X - I know, I know... I need to beat them. I had to restart on X because Anthony "accidentally" saved over my file where I was in Sin, was on the way to beat him, and got sidetracked by trying to get all the legendary weapons. VII: I was headed down the crater to meet Mr. Sephiroth, but I used the save point you get near the end almost at the end, instead at the top of the crater in case you want to go back up and grab something else

Ninja Gaiden II - I was playing this on the 24 hour cast, but stopped after I found out I was half way done with the game, but I was only on Chapter 14

So, if you haven't noticed...

The blog got a nice little overhaul. I didn't change a whole lot, the basic template is still the same. I changed a few of the colors to match what we use in the network, changed some of the headers for the widgets, changed some icons, mainly small stuff.

The only big change as you can see, is the new Blog Banner/Header. Our Xbox Live Avatars on on here now as well and they will update and change if we change then on Xbox Live. Neat little feature.

Also, when one of us posts now, it will show the Time AND the Date now as well as which one of us posted it. Theres also a new Poll setup using the Blogger Polling Widget and a new Highlight Reel setup using the YouTube Widget from Blogger.

So I hope you enjoy the new set up! Stay tuned for more info.

Not sure if most of you know but between Thanksgiving and the 2 weeks following I did not have a computer. Therefore I could not broadcast! Now that I have my computer back I will broadcast again! I'm just waiting on Randy to help me reconfigure my FME! So as soon as he tells me how to set my FME up again! I will not be able to broadcast! I am, however, regularly checking our forums and have not found any posts! Feel free to post in our forums! Even if its something random! I'll be happy to answer questions any viewers have about the network and about our casters! Hey all, Randy here.

I was browsing YouTube for another video to favorite for our channel and I came across a video that shows the iPhone vs the Android 2.0.

Since we're still trying to get the word about the network to the public, we've just been doing it the old fashioned way, word of mouth (I know Anthony and I use word of mouth, can't say the same for Jeremy and Maji). I started thinking of a different way to get the word out and thats demonstration. I don't have and want to carry a laptop around with me all the time, so I thought of the next best thing... PHONES (PDAs if you wanna get technical)!!! I didn't know which phone to get, though.

Now, what the video doesn't show you is how the iPhone can't show adobe flash. I used with my friend's, tried to show him my JTV, and it wouldn't let us. The iPhone also didn't allow my friend to download adobe flash player. I talked to my other friend who works for Verizon and he says that the Droid has a windows OS and will allow you to download adobe and all those programs that iPhone won't.

I thought this video was pretty cool and I felt like I wanted to share it with you guys.

Yeah, so... No More Heroes is coming to the 360 and PS3, and it looks pretty!

Bioshock 2 gets its inevitable Special Edition... I'm definately getting it.

Capcom announces RE5 gone gold (game industry speak for DONE) a second time, meaning DLC release is soon!

I pray someone there is as pissed at this selective cancellation as I was with the 360 version of Dreamkiller... this game is too good to be cancelled.

So, I'll admit, editting video is ALOT more time consuming than audio.

So, with that in mind, I have no choice but to move the release days for Video Podcasts to Fridays instead of Wednesdays.

Just to recap, Audio on Mondays, Video on Fridays now. Also, soon we will begin reviewing games, which the release days for those will be Wednesdays instead of the planned Fridays.

Sorry to have to change the days after saying it so many times on the Podcasts and Channels, but it's alot of work which takes time to get right and I want to make sure it's right every time, so a bit more time to get it done will create a better video for you guys to watch.

Blip.tv, thankfully convert's the file into Flash for us, for the main page of our Blip site, so it's currently converting it as I type. Once it's done converting to Flash Format, you can watch the file on the main page of our Blip.tv at http://rebelrouserpodcast.blip.tv.

So, go check it out, it's in it's new format for Titles and such with Credits and all the flare. Also the camera angle in this podcast will be used for EVERY podcast video from now on, I really like that angle and it works for my house very well.

If at all possible, please watch the Flash version as the ads that will be added to that version of the file, will help us bring in some revenue from Blip.tv.

So...I have a bit of news.

Theres going to be a delay in the release of the Video Podcast this week.
Apparently my computer caught a worm which proceeded to delete explorer.exe from my computer(in cause you don't know, explorer.exe is pretty much the main part of Windows, that allows the Taskbar and accessing files to be done). So I ended up using the HP Recovery to fix the issue, but now I have to reinstall all my main programs. I didn't loose any files, so everything is in tact, it will just take some time to get my computer back running to normal for me to finish encoding the Video Podcast.
I will update when it's ready and up for download, I just didn't want you guys to think it's not coming, because it is and if you saw the preview on the feed last night, I have to say, it looks really nice, so look forward to it.

Well, I have some sad news for the video of the podcast.

It seems as though Revver.com just isn't fast enough when it comes to uploading and reviewing videos, so I've found a new host for the video version of the podcast.

Our new host for the video version of the podcast is Blip.tv.
I am liking Blip.tv alot better already, as I was able to upload the Flash Video to the site and within 20 minutes the episode was up and ready for being viewed on our own little Channel within Blip.tv.

Our new Blip.tv channel can be found at rebelrouserpodcast.blip.tv, gotta love that Blip.tv even gives us a kinda subsite just for our show.

I'll also be embedding the video of Podcast 011 into our podcast site on Blogger like I said I was going to be doing before at rebelrouserpodcast.blogspot.com, but with Blip.tv, it's very easy to just watch the newest episode right from our Channel on Blip.tv.

Blip.tv, also does allow for RSS feeds and such for iTunes, so as soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll hopefully get the video of the podcast on iTunes as well.

Alright. The news is few and far between lately as it is nothing but more footage (nothing breathtaking) from games soon to come out. But here are a few juicy tidbits and one other thing.

The DLC for MUA2 has been dated and priced, rejoice.
A patch is released for the PS3 and 360 versions of Borderlands. I, personally, didn't notice a single of these problems... especially considering I played as Lilith. Odd.
Show your NCAA pride or your Alma Mater pride or what-have-you with University labeled avatar items (A first, officially licensed by the Collegeate Licensing Company, who stays away from licensing digital products)
More people on Live get banned for not living up to that "I Agree" button they pressed A on ever-so-long ago...

Thats right folks, we found a proper host for the video version of the podcast.

Now, I believe that there might be some Ads in the video, I'm not totally sure, but those Ads will also help us bring in some revenue, as we get a percent of all the ad gains.

Apparently it takes some time for Videos to process on Revver, so currently it's uploaded and in it's processing area, where they have to review it, but once it's up on Revver, I will be posting a link to our Revver Channel and the video link.

Just as a note, with the newer version of Audacity, it now takes only about an hour for me to edit the podcast, so I'll be changing the release date to Tuesdays, instead of Wednesdays, this being the first EP to follow that pattern.

However, the video version of the Podcast will still be released on Wednesdays, to give me time to reencode the video to proper formats and such for editting.
